They immediately started pulling books off the shelves, pointing out titles that represented their cultures, interests, and identities. One student said, \"Wait... this character is literally ME!\" and that moment alone made every piece of this project worth it.\r\nWe've already put the resources to work in a mini-unit where students chose texts that reflected their backgrounds or helped them explore something new. Watching them gather in little reading circles, debating characters, sharing connections, and excitedly recommending books to each other, has been such a wholesome teacher win.\r\nThese materials have shifted our classroom vibe in the best way: students feel seen, curious, and genuinely excited to read. Our room feels fuller, warmer, and more inclusive because of you.\r\nNext up: Students are beginning a project where they'll analyze themes across texts from different perspectives and then create digital book-talks to share with the school community. Their confidence is already growing, and your support made that possible.\r\nThank you for giving my students the space and stories they deserve. This project didn't just add books to a shelf, it added joy, representation, and so much pride to our classroom. 💛📚","fullyFundedDate":1755452993476,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-readers-in-a-welcoming-inclu/9579451/","projectTitle":"Empowering Readers in a Welcoming, Inclusive Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vasquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9083042_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755705597639","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dvasquez6"},{"teacherId":2584490,"projectId":8953969,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your most generous donation. The project also gave them a better sense of what type of art careers are out there and maybe it is something that they would like to pursue as a future career.\r\nThe students were allowed to choose their art career and then create their job title and create a business card size work ID with their photo. It also described job title and had the future company that they would like to work for. The students had to present like they were at a job fair and they all wore their heat laminated ID's to present.\r\nMost students it was the first time using a laminator and creating a work id that was functional . The supplies you provided have truly transformed our learning environment, making a tangible difference for both my students and me.\r\n\r\nThe addition of a printer has been nothing short of a game-changer. Being able to print assignments directly in my classroom has significantly streamlined our daily routines. No longer do I need to rush back and forth to the teachers' lounge; instead, I can devote more time to preparing engaging lessons and supporting my students. This simple yet essential tool has made a world of difference in my ability to provide materials quickly and efficiently.\r\n\r\nEqually invaluable has been the laminator. It has opened up a world of creative possibilities for our projects. One of my favorite uses so far was creating personalized Christmas snow globes for each child using their pictures. These turned out beautifully, and the parents absolutely loved them! Beyond holiday projects, the laminator has allowed me to create durable, reusable resources that support my students' learning and independence every day.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and support have not only made my job easier but have also enriched the educational experiences of my students. Thank you for helping us create meaningful memories and providing tools that truly make a difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1730312588683,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-superstars/8843659/","projectTitle":"Sensory Superstars!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gutierrez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9785569_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y95&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727717635613","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9785569"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32193","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":751,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":51,"percentAsian":25,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.3,"schoolId":32193,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Frank Conwell Middle School 4 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Frank Conwell Middle School 4","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/jersey-city-public-school-district/frank-conwell-middle-school-4/32193"}
