It makes the longer stretches of sewing (e.g. the edges of our gusset tote bags) much less mundane, and gives our students a skill that they can use for the rest of their lives. My students feel empowered knowing they have the support and investment of this community (many of whom are Francisco alumni or students who also loved Home Ec when they took it years ago!). \r\nAs we're finishing up making plush robots and gusset totes, we're now onto a unit where students will alter XXL-XXXXL T-shirts to make them fit, and also learning how to patch and mend when clothes get worn so that they can make less waste and live more sustainably. I am proud of our students for their hard work and their willingness to try new things. My Home Economics students love learning how to sew and spending every class making new creative projects. So far, we've made draw string bags, plushies, and pillows. We're also making the bean bags for our school's corn hole game during the Halloween Fair. \r\nOne of my favorite parts of teaching this class has been seeing how creative and perseverant students can be. I taught most of these students math two years ago, and it's wonderful to see another side of students come out through our sewing projects. The supplies provided help really our students. The snacks was used as rewards and it make it motivate my students to works. The fidgets and classroom supplies help our students in everyday classes. When we received the package the students were get excited. They favorite part are the snacks. Students love snacks as a reward system. I saw a lot of finished work to earned snacks rewards. \r\n I really appreciated the support this school year.
