Your donations have truly been transformative and enabled me to bring a new level of creativity and engagement to my students. \r\n\r\n Because of your support, I was able to implement a three-dimensional art project for my kindergarten and first-grade classes—over 120 students—who otherwise would not have had the chance to work with clay this year. The large donation of Model Magic made it possible for the students to create delightful seasonal snowmen, complete with scarves and noses, that they were thrilled to take home. This project also served as an introduction to foundational ceramic techniques, as the students learned how to create a pinch pot to form the snowmen's bodies. Their excitement was contagious; I heard exclamations like, \"It's so soft!\" and \"It looks like marshmallows!\" as well as the joyful disbelief of, \"We get to keep this?!\" These moments reflected how your contributions have helped spark curiosity and creativity in a new generation of young artists. \r\n\r\n I also used the Model Magic with a combined 4th- and 5th-grade group to complete a collaborative project. This small group designed and constructed an underwater observation facility inspired by their classroom research on clownfish and their habitats. This interdisciplinary project demonstrated the potential for art to complement and enhance learning across subjects. \r\n\r\n Additional materials like the neon paint and the construction paper sorter have also made a significant impact. Construction paper has become an essential resource for mixed media and paper sculpture projects, and the sorter has improved organization and encouraged students to manage their supplies more responsibly. The neon paint has been a highlight for special occasions, including our \"Glow in the Dark Art Day,\" and has also been incorporated into paintings and three-dimensional creations. \r\n\r\n We are deeply grateful for the foundation you've helped lay for our art department. These materials have not only enriched our current projects but have also opened doors to future opportunities. I'm thrilled to share that these contributions will support my plans to introduce dragon eye sculptures and, for the first time in years, re-establish an Art Club at our school. \r\n\r\n Without your support, our art room would have been limited to basic supplies like markers and paper for most projects. Your generosity has made a profound difference, and I cannot thank you enough for investing in the creative education of our students.","fullyFundedDate":1731383944576,"projectUrl":"project/helping-students-realize-art-is-more-tha/8507250/","projectTitle":"Helping Students Realize Art Is More Than Draw-a-Long Videos","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tikkanen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9599685"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_50243","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":383,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":76,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":57.4,"schoolId":50243,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fox Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fox Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/muscogee-county-school-district/fox-elementary-school/50243"}
