These new titles highlight students with dyslexia and ADHD, showcase unique family dynamics, and celebrate the many ways we think, learn, and grow.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is more than just a subject, it's a community experience. Students gather in small groups, cozy corners, or read-aloud circles to explore stories that help them see both themselves and others in new ways. These books have sparked powerful conversations about empathy, perseverance, and celebrating differences.\r\n\r\nWe've used these stories to introduce key reading and social-emotional skills, such as identifying character traits, understanding perspective, making text-to-self connections, and expanding vocabulary related to feelings and learning styles. Each book offers new opportunities to build comprehension while deepening students' appreciation for diversity and inclusion.\r\n\r\nSome students have connected to the stories in very personal ways. One student with dyslexia lit up while reading about a character who learns to read in their own unique way, saying, \"That's just like me!\" Another student with ADHD said the stories helped them feel \"seen and proud.\" Others have loved learning that families can look and feel different, and that every story matters.\r\n\r\nYour support has made reading a joyful, affirming experience for our students. You've given them more than just books, you've given them mirrors to see themselves and windows to understand others. Thank you for helping us create a classroom where every child feels represented, valued, and excited to read.","fullyFundedDate":1757683145578,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-every-student-into-the-story/9406878/","projectTitle":"Bringing Every Student Into the Story","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gilligan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8123871_orig.png?crop=401,401,x50,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673612840034","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8123871"},{"teacherId":8123871,"projectId":9407024,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of the rolling whiteboard to our classroom! It has already made a huge difference in the way we work during small groups. Being able to move the board closer to students has helped them engage more directly with the lesson, especially when working on comprehension and sentence formation. They love being able to see the examples right in front of them, it makes learning feel more accessible and personal.\r\n\r\nThis tool has quickly become a favorite part of our small group sessions. Students are participating more, asking questions, and confidently writing their own sentences with support right at their fingertips. The wobble stools, cushions, and other seating options have already made a huge impact in our classroom. The students were beyond excited when the materials arrived, they could hardly wait to try them out! Since then, they have been used every single day, and it has truly transformed how my students learn and interact with each other.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest benefits has been the ability for students to move while working, especially when they are partnering up or collaborating in small groups. My students with ADHD, in particular, have shown great improvement in their ability to stay engaged when given the chance to wiggle, rock, or shift while completing their work. The flexible seating also allows me to better accommodate the needs outlined in my students' IEPs, giving them the tools they need to feel comfortable and focused in our learning environment.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most powerful is seeing the confidence and joy these options bring to all of my students. They no longer feel confined to a traditional desk, and the freedom to choose where and how they learn best has created a more positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my next goal is to continue building resources to support my special education population, especially in the area of phonics-based instruction for upper elementary students. Many of my struggling readers are missing key phonics skills, and targeted, structured instruction would give them the foundation they need to grow as readers. I am so grateful to you for helping us take the first step by meeting their physical needs in the classroom, together, we are setting them up for long-term success.","fullyFundedDate":1755521906117,"projectUrl":"project/seats-for-success-helping-fourth-grader/9549854/","projectTitle":"Seats for Success: Helping Fourth Graders Learn in Comfort","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gilligan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8123871_orig.png?crop=401,401,x50,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673612840034","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8123871"},{"teacherId":8123871,"projectId":9194289,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to our fourth grade classroom! Many of our students thrive when they have the ability to move around, and your gift has given them the opportunity to stay engaged and be more successful in their learning. The impact was immediate — from day one, the excitement and enthusiasm in the room were unmistakable.\r\n\r\nSeveral of the students even asked me to personally thank \"whoever donated the new seats,\" and to send a special thank you from them.
