We used them to explore life cycles, make observations, and record data like real scientists. The students have been completely engaged, asking thoughtful questions and showing so much curiosity throughout the process.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments was the day our eggs began to hatch! The students were amazed as they watched tiny chicks break through their shells. Their excitement filled the room—they rushed to jot down notes and compare what they saw with their predictions. It was a true hands-on learning experience that helped science come alive for them.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be connecting what we learned to animal needs. Thank you so much for making this possible. Watching the first project print was like witnessing magic & they couldn't believe their digital designs could become real, physical objects in just a few hours! This incredible tool has not only opened up endless learning opportunities in engineering and design, but it's also helped us become more self-sustaining as a STEM program.\r\n\r\nWe now use the printer to design and create custom items that help generate funds for classroom materials and future projects. Students learn valuable design, production, and entrepreneurship skills as they take part in every step of the process- from concept to creation to fundraising. They've discovered how creativity and innovation can have a real-world impact, both in learning and in giving back to their own classroom community.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we're building more than just 3D projects! we're building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of purpose. When everything arrived, kids began predicting rainfall, comparing temperatures, and discussing how weather affects plant and insect life in our school garden.\r\n\r\nWe've now transformed part of our outdoor area into a \"STEM Exploration Zone.\" The benches provide a comfortable spot for observation and discussion, while the weather tools help students collect and chart real data during our science lessons. Younger students use the sand and water table for sensory exploration and early engineering play, while older students have started recording rainfall and humidity levels as part of a long-term weather tracking project.\r\n\r\nThese resources have made science tangible, giving students a chance to connect what they learn indoors to the world around them. The excitement they show while measuring rain, checking the weather station, or discovering a butterfly near their bench is proof that real-world learning makes a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1746786244367,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-stem-learning-outdoors/9221541/","projectTitle":"Bringing STEM Learning Outdoors!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Watkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9262218_orig.png?crop=615,615,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694114223176","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/fouke-stem"},{"teacherId":9528900,"projectId":9339556,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping us create an engaging learning environment where kids are excited to learn and collaborate with one another thanks to our new flexible seating! The small groups in the past has been a dreaded call out from the teacher, but now kids eagerly wait their turn to be called to the group for instruction. The flexible seating has been a highlight of the first week of school. Students were quick to figure out all the ways to utilize the new flex seating! Whether it's playing background music during creative builds or sharing sound effects for coding projects, this has completely changed the atmosphere of our classroom. The board games are being used to reinforce problem-solving, teamwork, and critical\r\nthinking skills.
