The supplies you provided have already had a profound impact on my students and their learning. One of the ways we've used the materials is during our current unit on creative writing. With the new notebooks, pens, and markers, my students have been able to brainstorm, plan, and revise their short stories in ways that truly inspire them. For example, during a recent peer-review activity, students used the colorful pens to highlight areas of their classmates' stories they liked and offered constructive feedback. It was amazing to watch them engage in such thoughtful, collaborative discussions about each other's writing. They were genuinely excited to have the resources to make their work stand out and to improve each other's stories.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and gratitude. Many of them expressed how they had never had access to such quality supplies before, and they immediately began organizing their notebooks and setting up their workspaces. It was as though the new materials gave them a renewed sense of ownership over their learning. I could see how this simple act of providing them with the tools they needed increased their confidence and motivated them to approach their writing with more enthusiasm and care.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using these supplies to build on the skills we've been developing. Students will be using their notebooks to draft, revise, and reflect on their writing as they prepare for a final project where they will write and publish a personal narrative. The new materials will allow them to not only focus on the quality of their writing but also on the process of editing and revising, which is such an important part of becoming strong writers. Your support is truly making a difference in their educational journey, and I am excited to see the growth and creativity that will continue to emerge in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity. The supplies you've provided are not only enhancing our lessons but also empowering my students to take pride in their work and develop as confident writers.","fullyFundedDate":1727462638254,"projectUrl":"project/ms-mcgowans-2024-classroom/8576725/","projectTitle":"Ms. McGowan’s 2024 Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McGowan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9241383"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_75407","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1846,"numTeachers":102,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":80.6,"schoolId":75407,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fossil Ridge High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fossil Ridge High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/poudre-school-district/fossil-ridge-high-school/75407"}
