Because of your generosity, my Musical Theatre students used new costumes and rehearsal resources every single day as we rehearsed, sang, and staged this ambitious piece. One powerful moment that stands out was our first full run-through with the materials in hand—students immediately stood taller, committed more fully to their character choices, and treated the rehearsal like a professional Broadway call rather than a school rehearsal. The resources didn't just support the project; they elevated the level of focus, discipline, and pride in the room.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, the reaction was pure excitement. There were gasps, smiles, and an immediate sense of ownership over the work. Many of these students have never had access to professional-quality theatrical resources before, and seeing them sparked a deeper belief in themselves as artists. It sent a clear message: your work matters, and you deserve tools that match your talent and effort.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students are continuing to refine vocals, choreography, and storytelling as we prepare the WICKED medley for our second performance in the spring. Our next steps include polishing ensemble transitions, strengthening harmonies, and connecting the emotional journey of each song so the audience experiences a clear and powerful story. Because of you, my students are not just learning musical theatre—they are experiencing what it feels like to be trusted, supported, and seen. Thank you for giving them that gift.","fullyFundedDate":1756576855111,"projectUrl":"project/defying-gravity-help-our-students-shine/9659065/","projectTitle":"Defying Gravity: Help Our Students Shine in Song!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Subsara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8743816_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756347272729","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8743816"},{"teacherId":7414435,"projectId":8909771,"letterContent":"Our students performed their exquisite production of THE LARAMIE PROJECT in early December to an audience of 350 parents, friends, teachers, students and community members.
