Your donation has brought excitement, engagement, and new opportunities for learning into our classroom.\r\n\r\nTechnology has become a wonderful tool for supporting early literacy. In our classroom, students are able to use technology to listen to stories, hear new vocabulary, practice letter and sound recognition, and interact with activities that reinforce the skills we are learning together. It gives our students another way to practice important foundational reading skills while allowing them to learn at their own pace.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is being able to interact with their learning. Their faces light up when they can independently choose a story, hear it read aloud, respond to questions, or complete an activity that helps them practice a skill they are learning in class. For our young learners, that sense of independence is incredibly motivating!\r\n\r\nI have also seen students who may be hesitant to participate during traditional lessons become much more engaged when technology is incorporated. Some students especially enjoy listening to stories and practicing skills repeatedly until they feel successful. Watching them gain confidence and proudly say, \"I did it!\" is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your donation is helping us build a strong foundation for reading. Technology does not replace the joy of holding a book, turning the pages, and sharing a story together—it gives our students an additional pathway to develop the early literacy skills they need to become confident readers.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their future. Your kindness has helped create a classroom library filled with books that do so much more than tell a story—they help my young students learn about themselves, understand others, and celebrate what makes each of us special.\r\n\r\nIn our Pre-K classroom, reading is a very special part of our day. We gather together, look at the pictures, make predictions, ask questions, talk about the characters' feelings, and connect the stories to our own experiences. These new books have given us wonderful opportunities to teach important skills such as identifying and expressing emotions, developing empathy, understanding different perspectives, building vocabulary, and learning to appreciate and respect differences.\r\n\r\nSome of our students especially enjoy choosing a book that connects with how they are feeling that day. I love watching them recognize emotions in the characters and begin to say things like, \"He feels sad,\" or \"She is happy because...\" These conversations may seem simple, but they are helping our children develop the social-emotional skills they will carry with them far beyond our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe books have also encouraged children who may not always choose to participate in group discussions to become more engaged. They love looking at the illustrations, sharing what they notice, and telling their own stories about the characters. It has been beautiful to see books become a way for our students to feel seen, understood, and connected to one another.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our classroom library is becoming a place where every child can find a story, a character, or an experience that feels familiar while also learning about lives and experiences different from their own.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our children and helping us build a classroom where every child feels valued, represented, and loved. Our 4th grade students have been using the new materials to create claymation figures for stop-motion animation projects. They are not only sculpting characters, but also planning stories, collaborating with peers, and bringing their ideas to life frame by frame. I've seen students who typically struggle with focus become completely absorbed in the process—problem-solving, revising, and celebrating each small success along the way.\r\n\r\nOur 2nd grade artists have been using acrylic markers on canvas board to create bold, colorful paintings inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. When the materials were first introduced, their excitement was immediate—students were amazed to be working on \"real canvas\" and using vibrant tools that made their ideas pop. They quickly began experimenting with line, pattern, and color, creating unique works full of personality. Many students took extra care and time, wanting their artwork to reflect their best effort.\r\n\r\nBecause of these resources, students are now thinking and working like true artists. As we continue this unit, they are building skills in planning, creativity, and reflection—learning how to take an idea from concept to completion. These experiences are helping them grow not only in artistic skill, but in confidence and perseverance. Your support has given them the opportunity to create meaningful, high-quality work, and to see themselves as capable, creative thinkers.
