Our new tablet and headphones are leading to good learning.\r\n\r\n As you might imagine, classrooms use much more technology these days. Thanks to our new tablet, I'm now able to create more precise lessons that help student reach the mastery they need to succeed. It's become very useful in creating notes and activities that students can use to follow along during lectures in real time. I myself am also able to project almost anything at a moment's notice thanks to the tablet's ability to link to our classroom projector. \r\n\r\nThere are many computer based activities that students can now access more comfortably thanks to our classroom set of headphones. Because these lessons require sound and many students did not like the idea of others hearing dialogue and sound effects coming from their computers, they would often turn sounds completely off. Without sound, these activities were not as efficient. I can also admit it could become very distracting to hear so many voices and sounds coming from 30+ computers. Now, they can comfortably work on these activities knowing the sound is isolated to only them. \r\n\r\nMy lessons have also become easier for students to understand and visualize thanks to the flexibility the iPad gives me. I can animate stick figures playing catch to help visualize changing trajectories, pull up \"desmos\" at any moment a graph might be useful to us, present the calculator app for any students who doubt my calculations, etc. Maybe best of all, since the tablet is an iPad, I can also teach students how to use some of the apps already installed on their iPhones to help them with their classes and everyday life in general. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you all for your help funding this project. In general, our class feels much more organized and I feel assured that the learning now happening in this classroom is simply better.","fullyFundedDate":1731298732815,"projectUrl":"project/modernizing-a-math-classroom-for-more-en/8918261/","projectTitle":"Modernizing a Math Classroom for More Engaging and Personalized Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bravo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9825390_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730704619632","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9825390"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55848","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1961,"numTeachers":114,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":88,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":55848,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about A.B.
