In this space big feelings are met with compassion, curiosity, and tools to cope. Thanks to generous donors, this corner is now home to resources like A Little Spot of Feelings book, an \"emotion coin drop\" that the kids really do benefit from. These tools allow them to self-regulate and I love being able to provide those tools for my students. \r\n\r\nIt's more than a corner; it's where I've seen quiet breakthroughs happen. I've watched a student who used to shut down during frustration now calmly reach for the emotion coin drop and really re-center. Others simply ask for a brain break and use the sensory tools to come back to the lesson. \r\n\r\nThese tools have transformed not just individual behavior but the emotional tone of our whole classroom. Kids look out for each other now. If someone's visibly upset, a classmate might gently guide them to the SEL corner. It has helped tremendously with my classroom management and the students are very aware that they are tools and not toys. This little space reminds them (and me) that feelings aren't problems to fix, but signals to understand.","fullyFundedDate":1734099430868,"projectUrl":"project/big-feelings-bright-futures-kindergar/8980993/","projectTitle":"Big Feelings, Bright Futures - Kindergarten SEL Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ashley Rosales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7931932_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y370&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721190566989","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7931932"},{"teacherId":7931932,"projectId":9017807,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation of Dr. Seuss books to our classroom. For many of them, reading was once an intimidating task, but characters like Elephant and Piggie or the ever-dramatic Pigeon have completely changed that. These stories are simple yet deeply engaging, filled with humor, emotion, and relatable situations that resonate with my young learners.\r\n\r\nFor students from low-income backgrounds, who may not have access to books at home, these stories become more than just classroom materials—they become cherished experiences. Mo Willems' books empower my students to see themselves as readers. The repetition and expressive illustrations support early literacy skills, while the emotional depth of the characters helps build empathy and social understanding.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these books make reading fun. They create positive associations with literacy that can ripple throughout a child's education. Seeing the joy on their faces as they shout along with Pigeon or giggle at Elephant and Piggie's adventures reminds me that this is where a lifelong love of reading begins.","fullyFundedDate":1735413464224,"projectUrl":"project/mo-books-adventures-for-our-classroo/8980934/","projectTitle":"\"Mo\" Books & Adventures for our Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ashley Rosales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7931932_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y370&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721190566989","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7931932"},{"teacherId":7931932,"projectId":8980880,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom project!
