In our classroom we are currently learning about nonfiction text features such as label, diagrams, headings, and graphs. They enjoy learning about different animal, jobs, and communities around the world. During choice time students often choose to play with Legos, build with blocks, or draw with colored pencils. We received many snacks to start the school year off. The 1st graders in my school eat lunch very early at 11:00 and this makes for a long afternoon. I always try to offer a small snack to help get them through the afternoon. I usually pay for these snacks out of my own pocket because I know how important it is for students. Kids cannot focus and learn when their bellies are hungry. Your snack donations have helped us enormously! The kids were so excited to see the variety of snacks we now have to choose from. I also received real paper towels. School paper towels absorb nothing! I always keep these real paper towels handy for spills, especially since we eat breakfast in the classroom. Just this morning at breakfast, a student spilled their entire carton of milk on the table. I was so happy to have paper towels that work to clean up the spill! \r\n\r\nI am a firm believer in the old saying \"It takes a village\".
