Often times as educators we need to teach life skills that are essential for students to learn. Picture books teach important messages and lessons that students need to be reminded of. It is important for them to hear it from multiple sources such as authors, teachers, parents, etc. for them to learn the value of the skill. I have been able to teach students the importance of being respectful, what kindness looks like, and how to allow others think time instead of just shouting the answer out. My students love learning just as much as I do and I love seeing their expressions when I show them the illustrations in the books. We have excellent discussions that help facilitate making connections in their lives. Our classroom is an exciting place where everyone has the opportunity to learn. It gives them their very own little office area. I didn't realize how awful our old pencil sharpeners were. Within minutes our new sharpeners have our pencils sharp and ready to go. My students were so excited to see how this state-of-the-art sharpener works. It pulls the pencil down into the sharpener, sharpens it, and then pushes it back out the top. The pencil's point is so much longer that the pencils stay sharp twice as long. This has been a game-changer for our class. \r\n The storage organizers have been so lovely. All of our papers and student's assignments are organized.
