My students were able to complete their science projects. They have been able to use the computer to type their project information and create their graphs. The printer was very useful in that they printed out their information for the boards and the abstracts. Without this technology it would have been very difficult to meet the registration deadlines for competitions.\r\nWith your help my students were given the opportunity to complete at District level with their informational boards they created using the laptop and printer from Donors Choose. \r\nThey placed in the top 2 at the District Science Fair with 22 of our 31 students advancing to the Regional Science Fair at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Their boards were amazingly created. 22 of our Hawks advanced to the Regional fair with 18 placing in the top 4 of each category. 7 advanced to the State Science Fair at Texas A&M College Station this past March. I had 6 girls and 1 boy advance with 6 being 6th graders and 1 and 8th grader. The 6th graders had never been out of town and my 8th grader, this was her 3rd trip to State.\r\nThe trip gave my students not only the opportunity to showcase their research, but also gain experiences that will be needed when they become independent such as staying at a hotel or ordering at a restaurant, which for most of my students that traveled never had that opportunity. Your donation has made a positive difference in their lives and given them experience they had never had. They worked in teams to build the architecture models, learning how to communicate, stay organized, and make sure everyone was included. They double-checked their work along the way, carefully following instructions and discussing each next step. Losing even one piece could affect the outcome, so they quickly learned the importance of organization and attention to detail.\r\n\r\nThe LEGO sets sparked even more interest in the club, and we had several new students join after seeing the exciting projects. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and encourage one another has been inspiring. These resources have taught them valuable skills in teamwork, patience, and perseverance—skills they'll carry with them long after the builds are complete.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this opportunity to grow, learn, and create.
