Your contributions have made a significant impact on our students, particularly in the realm of technology integration.\r\n\r\nThe implementation of new technology in our classroom has been transformative. It has enabled our students to study ancient civilizations in a more interactive and engaging manner. For example, using the Sphero, students have been able to create innovative ways to explore historical concepts while developing their coding skills. This hands-on approach not only enhances their understanding but also fosters a love for learning.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students the most about this new technology is the ability to learn and create. They have taken ownership of their learning process, often teaching their classmates how to use the tools effectively. This sense of responsibility has led to a collaborative learning environment where students actively share their knowledge with one another.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that several students have particularly warmed to this technology. Many have embraced the role of being experts, assisting their peers in navigating these new tools. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and it has truly enriched our classroom experience.","fullyFundedDate":1724349204158,"projectUrl":"project/learn-to-be-a-coding-sphero/8681805/","projectTitle":"Learn to Be a Coding “Sphero”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Clark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7805911"},{"teacherId":9719921,"projectId":8724188,"letterContent":"I am grateful for the Learning Without Tears supplies that have allowed me to provide the groundwork and multisensory learning for preschoolers and children in special education to develop early literacy skills. Your generosity has helped children in rural Montana develop body awareness, build directional concepts and learn to make and identify letters. \r\n\r\nWe started by making mat man with the magnetic pieces. Children learned to identify at least 10 body parts and worked on above, below and next to concepts to place the pieces and build a person. We also worked on big and little to identify the lines and curves. It was so fun when the kids started independently using the lines and curves on the alphabet carpet to make the letters! I had not built that task into my lesson plan but it has been a favorite with all three schools!\r\n\r\nWhen used multisensory learning techniques to make letters from playdough. One preschool puts up a capital letter, the shapes to make the letter and a picture that starts with the letter. We also use the roll a dough letters to trace letters on the stamp and see screens. These screens allow further ability to make letters with the magnetic lines and curves. The yellow stylus promotes a tripod grasp as kids start to write letters independently. Our kids do not want to quit writing when it is time to change stations. \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting early literacy with over 30 students in rural Montana.","fullyFundedDate":1726239716952,"projectUrl":"project/prek-and-special-education-letter-awaren/8724188/","projectTitle":"PreK and Special Education Letter Awareness and Handwriting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9719921"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78745","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":168,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":97,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"16.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":78745,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fairfield Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fairfield Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/montana/fairfield-school-district-21/fairfield-elementary-school/78745"}
