We have been having wonderful conversations about how to regulate when we have big feelings. \r\n\r\nI put the beautiful Rainbow Liquid Sensory Viewers in our Calm Down Corner. For example, both require development of fine motor skills and building of hand strength which is crucial for writing and cutting. Both items allow students to practice counting and develop number recognition. The students talked about loving the new toys and asked who bought them. We explained people donated money so we were able to get these new toys. Many of my students share winter gear with younger siblings or don't have any warm winter clothing. The snowpants, boots, and mittens for all is incredible!\r\n\r\nAll students now have warm gear and are all smiles. When I bring out the big bucket of mittens they cheer with delight. Little hands get cold really fast, and the boots for a few students are so adorable and warm.
