The materials you helped provide brought the Trojans Workshop to life, turning our classroom into a space where students can safely practice real-world job skills and begin to see themselves as capable, working adults. Many of my students come from under-resourced households and have had limited exposure to structured vocational experiences. Watching them independently complete tasks like stocking shelves, organizing materials, and following visual job supports—often for the very first time—has been incredibly powerful. These moments are more than lessons; they are confidence-building experiences that show students what they can do.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement, pride, and curiosity. Several students asked if this was \"what a real job feels like,\" while others immediately took ownership of their work, carefully checking steps and helping peers succeed. For students who often struggle in traditional academic settings, this project gave them a sense of purpose and belonging. It allowed them to experience success in a way that feels meaningful and attainable, which has made a noticeable difference in their motivation and self-esteem.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue building independence and stamina as they rotate through job-simulation stations and work toward individualized vocational goals. We will use these resources to prepare them for supported or competitive employment after high school—something many families worry about but hope for deeply. Because of you, my students now have tools, structure, and belief in themselves that simply were not available before. Your support didn't just fund materials—it helped open doors to dignity, opportunity, and a brighter future.","fullyFundedDate":1758293152914,"projectUrl":"project/help-build-a-brighter-future/9663551/","projectTitle":"Help Build a Brighter Future!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Campbell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5989146_orig.png?crop=256,256,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756483778765","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5989146"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_59418","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2345,"numTeachers":118,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":81,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":59418,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Evans High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Evans High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/orange-county-public-schools/evans-9th-grade-center/59418"}
