The speed and accuracy of this printer has far exceeded our expectations. We have been able to make several important builds that have helped our teams compete at high levels. One such example is how we were able to build multiple braces for our tower construction teams so they can get nearly perfect angles when constructing their trusses. We had one competition of not using the braces. Our best team that day finished in 9th place with an efficiency score of just over 600. It was okay, but all of our towers were not that great. For the next competition, we were able to utilize the 3-d printed braces to help build our towers. Our top team had an efficiency score of 1627! They finished in 4th place that day and had a beautifully designed tower.\r\n\r\nWe have also used the printer to add parts to our mission:possible devices (think Rube Goldberg machines) that helped our mission team score a 5th place finish at the latest competition!\r\n\r\nWe have also used it to reprint some parts of our wheeled vehicles that have broken, and to print parts to have on stand-by for when a disaster strikes. \r\n\r\nWe have noticed an uptick in excitement all of our students from both the middle and high schools with 3-d printing. It is really neat to see our students designing 3-D objects and then getting to print them out with quickness and accuracy. We have certainly had some set-backs, but that's science and we love and welcome the struggle! \r\n\r\nAs I type this, we are printing a balsa wood sanding device to get even more precise angles with our tower builds. The middle school has a competition this weekend and several teams have used the 3-d printed molds and braces for their designs - we anticipate having our best day yet.\r\n\r\n Thank you on behalf of the Eudora Middle and High School science olympiad teams!","fullyFundedDate":1729423761929,"projectUrl":"project/creality-3d-printer-for-ems-science-olym/8885335/","projectTitle":"Creality 3D Printer for EMS Science Olympiad","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Stadalman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6605641_orig.jpg?crop=600,600,x0,y20&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565205387336","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/stadalman"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56699","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":371,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.1,"schoolId":56699,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Eudora Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Eudora Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/eudora-unified-school-district-491/eudora-middle-school/56699"}
