With the hands-on materials to build lanterns and dragons, students can build knowledge of history, see the symbols and artifacts that represent important events, and connect meaning to the creations that represent the backgrounds and cultures of all of our students. \r\n\r\nSeeing the display of the Legos that represented the Lunar Ice Festival that was built in collaboration with students in my classroom who shared and expressed the meaning behind the characters of the figures, allowed the students to have visuals to express their meaning and communicate their history with their peers. They worked hard and continued to challenge their spatial reasoning as they put the Lego sets together.
