We utilized the new materials the minute they were delivered to our school! In World Sports, we finally had enough supplies to where we could have multiple groups going at one time or for each kid to be able to use materials more frequently then those who took my elective first semester. It made the classes go more smoothly, gave students the opportunity to get more time with materials and made the kids more engaged in each activity. \r\n\r\nWhen kids heard that we were funded, they thought it was so cool! We are not a rich school or have many kids from affluent families, so new supplies are not always available for us. So to hear we were getting a bunch of new things and then seeing it physically in the room was really cool for a lot of them! They even assisted me in getting everything unpacked, labelled and ready for the first day of use in the gym. In terms of the blindfolds and balls with bells, it was so nice to obtain more of those so we could run our Goalball unit in a more cleanly manner. Each kid had their own blindfold rather than sharing and having to get them cleaned each day after class. \r\n\r\nWith our new materials, I was able to add Table Tennis as a unit as well as Squid Games. We will be running both units in the upcoming month and have enough to run small groups versus big groups having to share one or two sets of equipment. It is so awesome to see and I am forever grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1743619364154,"projectUrl":"project/sports-from-all-over-the-world/9173446/","projectTitle":"Sports From All Over The World","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Riegle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9969333"},{"teacherId":9969337,"projectId":9173460,"letterContent":"What an impact you all have been with the material sent to us. My students were able to go on a field trip and go fishing with the fishing gear that was sent. We have been able to partake in a fire starting unit using the magnesium and flint also using the bow friction tools provided. I actually had two of my six groups get fires going using the friction fire method with the tool sent. We've also also able to use the mushroom identification books to better understanding or mushroom finds in the woods in Oregon.
