Your commitment to equipping our students with the best possible tools is truly inspiring, and I want to share the immediate and significant ways these calculators are transforming the mathematical learning experience.\r\n\r\nWe know that many of our donors, while highly proficient with technology at home, might not be as familiar with how these specific tools are used in a modern secondary math classroom. Rest assured, these aren't just high-tech slide rules; they are powerful engines for conceptual understanding that have fundamentally changed how our students approach complex subjects like algebra, trigonometry, and calculus.","fullyFundedDate":1746534096929,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-complete-a-class-set-of-graphing/9267366/","projectTitle":"Help us Complete a Class Set of Graphing Calculators","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hesselberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10004305"},{"teacherId":8959397,"projectId":9119220,"letterContent":"The generous donation of ceramic glazes from our Donors Choose supporters has truly transformed my ceramics project into a success for every student! The vibrant colors of these high-quality glazes have helped our students to create original, stunning ceramic pieces that they can share with their families, classmates, and teachers. Several student artworks, beautifully finished with these glazes, were featured in last week's Art Show.\r\n\r\nWorking with clay and glaze is consistently an engaging experience in my classroom. The tactile nature of the materials and the exciting transformation that occurs in the kiln keeps students consistently engaged. With the donor's choose money, I was able to buy a large variety of new glazes for students to use on their projects. One student, in particular, has been exploring the donated glazes in wonderfully inventive ways. She carefully layered different glaze colors and used masking techniques to create unique patterns and designs on her ceramic sculpture, demonstrating impressive patience, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are deeply grateful for the impact of this project! Ceramics, enhanced by these beautiful glazes, has become a lesson that truly hooks students, sparking a greater interest in art and encouraging them to return to the art room eager to create more. Even students who don't typically see themselves as particularly artistic experience a sense of accomplishment and pride when their glazed pieces come out of the kiln.","fullyFundedDate":1739901891094,"projectUrl":"project/glaze-for-all/9119220/","projectTitle":"Glaze for All!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ancona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8959397"},{"teacherId":8959397,"projectId":9069313,"letterContent":"The printmaking supplies from our Donors Choose donors has made the printmaking unit in my classroom a successful project for all students! The high quality ink and paper has allowed our students to create original, quality artwork that they can share with their families, classmates, and teachers. Several students had their prints showcased in the Art Show last week. \r\n\r\nPrintmaking is always an engaging lesson in my classroom. The hands-on materials and high success rate of printmaking helps students to learn the media quickly. The quality printmaking ink and new brayers make students feel extra confident in their work. The quality of the prints made with new materials is noticeably better. \r\n\r\nOne student in particular has been using the printmaking supplies in various experimental ways. She used several layers of printmaking ink and two different pieces of the rubber square to create a print with two different colors that fit together, something that requires patience, problem solving and attention to detail. \r\n\r\nMy students and I can't tell you enough how meaningful this project was to them. Printmaking is a lesson that can hook students and get them more interested in art and can keep them coming back to the art room for more. I'm writing to share some of the truly inspiring impact your generosity has made in the lives of our students through our recent reading initiative.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students had the opportunity to dive into engaging books that not only sparked their interest but also nurtured essential language and literacy skills. Through these reading sessions, students were able to build stronger language foundations—developing new vocabulary, observing grammar in context, and sharpening their overall reading comprehension in Spanish.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful aspects of the experience was how students worked in small reading groups. These groups became safe, supportive spaces where learners could practice their reading aloud, ask questions, and help each other understand the text. The collaborative atmosphere helped many of our students gain confidence in their reading abilities, while also fostering a strong sense of teamwork and shared accomplishment.\r\n\r\nThe content of the books also played a crucial role. All of our titles introduced students to influential Hispanic figures, opening up discussions about history, culture, and identity. These stories resonated deeply, helping students see themselves—and what's possible for them—reflected in the pages.\r\n\r\nPerhaps the most telling sign of success? Students began asking if they could read more books! That spark of curiosity and eagerness to keep learning is exactly what we hope for, and it wouldn't have been possible without you.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us—thank you for investing in our students' growth. Your gift is helping shape confident, curious readers who are excited to learn more every day.","fullyFundedDate":1701714147560,"projectUrl":"project/quin-fue-inspirational-tales/7929074/","projectTitle":"¿Quién fue?
