The new paddle drums, djembes, anklebells, and Orba looping device have transformed how my students explore music and culture.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the instruments, their eyes lit up. Many of them immediately picked up the drums and started experimenting with beats, smiling and laughing as the room filled with sound. For some, it was their very first time playing on a real drum, and they were amazed by how powerful their hands and sticks could sound.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened recently when we gathered in a circle to drum together. Some students took turns leading rhythms while others followed along. With anklebells adding sparkle and the looping device layering beats, they created something that felt bigger than the classroom—almost like a live performance. Students who are often shy in class found a voice through drumming, and you could feel their confidence growing with each rhythm.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on a music and storytelling project where students combine traditional drumming patterns with modern looping and vocals. Our next step is to record these performances, allowing students to reflect on their growth and share their creations with their families and community.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only given us instruments but also a way to connect, collaborate, and express ourselves.
