Students who had never visited before are now coming in regularly to play games with friends, work on crafts, and even check out books! What started as a way to spark creativity has become a bridge to connection and community.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group of students that did not previously know each other very well, come together over a board game- by the end of the period, they were laughing and talking, becoming friends! Moments like that, remind me how important it is to create spaces where students feel comfortable and included. \r\n\r\nYour support made all of this possible. Thank you for believing in our students and for helping our library grow into a place where creativity and connection thrive every day.","fullyFundedDate":1758831619739,"projectUrl":"project/creativity-and-connection-games-craft/9688324/","projectTitle":"Creativity and Connection: Games & Crafts for Our Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gomez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7108994_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763670895761","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7108994"},{"teacherId":10159182,"projectId":9739088,"letterContent":"When the new resources arrived, my students' faces lit up with genuine excitement and curiosity. Many of them have so few opportunities to simply play or express themselves creatively, so seeing science-themed games, coloring pages, and calming activities available just for them was a powerful moment. They couldn't believe that these materials were theirs to use—that someone outside our classroom cared enough to invest in their joy and growth.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the new resources during our social-emotional learning and science enrichment times. Students gather in small groups to collaborate on science puzzles, color while reflecting on lessons, and laugh together as they play educational games that reinforce key concepts. These activities have truly transformed our classroom into a sanctuary—a place where they can relax, connect, and rediscover the simple joy of learning.\r\n\r\nWhen they first saw the materials, the room filled with excitement. My students immediately wanted to open every game and explore how to play. One student exclaimed, \"We get to play with these!\" while others eagerly learned new card games that helped them strengthen their math skills. Moments like these remind me why this work matters so deeply.\r\n\r\nNext, my students will continue using these materials to build teamwork and communication skills while integrating them into our next science unit on the atmosphere and the environment. These activities are helping them not only learn academic content but also heal, connect, and grow as young people. Your generosity has given them more than just supplies—it's given them a reminder that they are seen, supported, and deserving of care.","fullyFundedDate":1758832173183,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-the-child-out-of-the-student/9739088/","projectTitle":"Bringing the child out of the student.","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kawai","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10159182_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758392636440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10159182"},{"teacherId":10159182,"projectId":9547723,"letterContent":"My students were so happy to see the new resources in our classroom! They were especially excited about the colorful new turn-in bins, and each class got to choose which color they wanted as their own. One of my classes noticed the grown-up scissors right away and was thrilled that they didn't have to use the small kid scissors anymore. They were also so grateful to finally have glue sticks for their notebooks, which made our activities much easier to complete.\r\n\r\nWe haven't received the storage cart yet, but I know my students will be over the moon when they see it—it will make finding and organizing their missing work so much easier.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw me with the boxes, their faces lit up as they scrambled over and eagerly asked what was inside. Later that day, we finished our class task a little early, so I let some of the students open the packages themselves. The joy and curiosity were priceless—some were puzzled by the large Post-it boards, while others were thrilled to see the \"grown-up\" scissors. You truly made their day, and it was a wonderful moment to share with them.\r\n\r\nNext, we are moving into our unit on the layers of the Earth. Students will be learning about each layer and how they work together to form our planet. To make the lesson more engaging, I'm planning a volcano project where students will research different types of volcanoes, then choose one to draw and label. This will give them a chance to connect their research to a creative activity and help them better understand Earth's structure and geology.","fullyFundedDate":1757539577713,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-notebook-supplies/9547723/","projectTitle":"Interactive Notebook Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kawai","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10159182_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758392636440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10159182"},{"teacherId":9161911,"projectId":9231312,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous donation of ink, my students' Photoshop album cover projects truly came to life.
