We sent a few weeks watching the supplies roll in. Students were so curious as a stack of boxes continued to accumulate in the corner of the classroom. As I began opening boxes and putting the hydroponic towers together, their curiosity grew. Students were even asking if they were large chocolate fountains!\r\nOnce all items were received and unboxed, we anxiously waited for State Testing to be completed so we could devote total attention to beginning our project. Student Council members helped to move our items to the front foyer of the school and assemble our hydroponic station, along with an informational display. This display explains the basics of hydroponics and the benefits.\r\n\r\nWe are currently cultivating a variety of lettuce seeds as our first hydroponic crop, and look forward to harvesting our first batch before the end of the school year. We also have begun a small collection of herbs in our table top hydro system.
