Because of you, my 18 amazing second graders now have flexible seating options that help them focus, feel comfortable, and engage more fully in their learning each day.\r\nWhen our new Wiggle Stools and our Flex-Space Balance Ball Seats arrived, the excitement in the room was contagious. Students eagerly explored which seat helped them do their best thinking. Some children immediately gravitated toward the wiggle stools during math centers, while others found calm focus using the balance ball seats during reading time. These simple but powerful choices have transformed our classroom into a space that truly adapts to each child's needs.\r\n\r\nOne of my students who often struggled to stay seated during lessons now proudly tells me, \"This stool helps my body listen!\" Another student, who benefits from gentle movement while working, is now able to sustain attention for much longer stretches. Every day, I see more confidence, self-regulation, and joy in their learning because they can choose what works best for them.\r\n\r\nYour donation didn't just provide furniture, it created a more inclusive, student-centered learning environment where all children can thrive. Thank you for helping us build a classroom that celebrates every learner and empowers them to do their best work.","fullyFundedDate":1756350047887,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-2nd-grade/9649359/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for 2nd Grade!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10223157_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756220110390","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10223157"},{"teacherId":5329560,"projectId":9121873,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom library is now filled with powerful Black History books that celebrate courage, creativity, and community. These texts have quickly become part of our daily reading lives, helping students practice important literacy skills like identifying main ideas, making meaningful connections, and discussing themes of perseverance, justice, and identity. Each story has opened conversations about empathy and fairness while strengthening comprehension and vocabulary. When students read about Ruby Bridges, the Greensboro Four, or Mae Jemison, they not only learn history, they also see how ordinary people can make extraordinary change. Reading in our classroom is both joyful and reflective: students choose books that speak to them, read with partners, and share discoveries during community circles. The energy is one of curiosity and care, as students highlight powerful moments, act out scenes, and write reflections about what they've learned.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers have found new confidence through these books. One who rarely chose nonfiction now devours picture book biographies about musicians and activists; another discovered her family's connection to migration stories through Mae Among the Stars. Many have said, \"I see myself in this book!\"—a phrase that echoes through our room with pride. These books have deepened our understanding of history and social justice and made our classroom library a space where all voices are seen and valued. Thank you for believing in our students and helping them grow into thoughtful, brave, and compassionate readers.","fullyFundedDate":1750005853194,"projectUrl":"project/bring-black-history-books-to-the-ella-ba/9121873/","projectTitle":"Bring Black History Books to the Ella Baker School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5329560_orig.png?crop=599,599,x0,y21&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629813298440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5329560"},{"teacherId":5329560,"projectId":6721637,"letterContent":"Reading in my classroom is an active and engaging experience. We strive to create a community of readers where students feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, asking questions, and exploring new ideas. Here are some ways reading comes to life in our classroom:\r\n\r\nRead-Alouds: I regularly read aloud from engaging texts, modeling fluent reading, and think-aloud strategies. We pause to discuss key themes, make predictions, and connect the story to our own lives.\r\nSmall Group Reading: Students work in small groups to discuss books, analyze passages, and complete graphic organizers. This fosters collaboration and allows students to learn from each other.\r\nIndependent Reading: Students have dedicated time to read books of their choice. This promotes a love of reading and allows them to explore their interests. We encourage students to keep reading journals and reflect on their reading experiences.\r\nClass Discussions: We engage in whole-class discussions to share our interpretations of books and connect them to broader social issues. I encourage students to cite evidence from the text to support their claims and respectfully challenge each other's ideas.\r\nCreative Projects: Students respond to books through creative projects, such as writing poems, creating artwork, performing skits, and designing presentations. This allows them to demonstrate their understanding in a meaningful way.\r\nShared Reading: Students are reading at the same time and in the same place. They will then be allowed to discuss after the reading.","fullyFundedDate":1661375033082,"projectUrl":"project/the-beauty-and-diversity-in-the-continen/6721637/","projectTitle":"The Beauty and Diversity in the Continent of Africa","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5329560_orig.png?crop=599,599,x0,y21&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629813298440","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5329560"},{"teacherId":2374786,"projectId":8558267,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation to our Donors Choose project.
