These hands-on materials have allowed my students to build foundational math skills in a way that's engaging, accessible, and fun. Many of my students benefit from tactile learning, and these resources—like counting bears, ten frames, and number puzzles—have created meaningful opportunities for them to explore numbers through touch and play. We've incorporated the centers into our daily math rotations, and I've already seen improvement in number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and early addition skills.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments was when I introduced the counting bears for the first time. The students' eyes lit up, and they immediately started sorting them by color and lining them up to count. One of my students, who typically struggles with engagement during math time, eagerly used the bears to \"feed\" numbered cups in order. It was a joyful moment that showed just how powerful these tools are. Currently, we're using the centers to support a unit on comparing numbers. Students are working in pairs, using manipulatives to create visual representations of greater than/less than problems—a skill that's challenging for many but now feels much more approachable with these tools.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll be using the centers to dive into composing and decomposing numbers, and I'm excited to see how the students continue to grow. These materials have become a vital part of our classroom routines and are helping to build confidence and independence in my young learners. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in ways that truly work for them.","fullyFundedDate":1739282334125,"projectUrl":"project/counting-centers/9031477/","projectTitle":"Counting Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ravenda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9887598"},{"teacherId":7640472,"projectId":6654198,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support my students were able to improve their reading skills.
