They were truly overwhelmed that someone who did not even know them would be so kind as to help them create portfolios that not only are for each six weeks here but that will also go on with them to college and may even provide them college credit for all of their hard work. \r\n Many of our Scholar Teachers come from families that cannot always afford extra supplies, like the larger binders needed for the six weeks portfolios for this class. We keep old binders here at school but they are typically the white or black binders that also have some wear and tear to them. Your donation has given them beautiful, colorful binders that will last them through their entire 3 years in the Scholar Teacher program and they will now be able to look professional and polished wherever they go with them. \r\n In addition, the printer is just a blessing so far above anything we ever expected to receive. Our county has cut the number of color copies we are allowed to print and that had a tremendous impact on the Scholar Teacher portfolios because each six weeks every individual Scholar Teacher probably has 15 to 20 pages a piece to put in their binder. The black and white copies just do not display the care, talent and creativity that color copies do. Your provision of the color copier has allowed them to continue to express their vibrant personalities, their creative lesson plans and worksheets for the students at their internships and a professional quality that will make them stand out when they carry their portfolios to college after graduation to hopefully receive college educational course credit. Our rural county in NC would never have been able to provide a printer for us, so you have truly had a tremendous impact not just on this year's group of Scholar Teachers, but on all of the future students who will come through this program. You are making an impact on a future teacher and a classroom of students in a way that will be a powerful impact, and you are telling our students who want to be future educators that the world does still support teachers. \r\n I am sharing photos of the student with their portfolios, the printer and our current class of Scholar Teachers. I hope you will check in with us often to see what a difference you have made for our Scholar Teachers and the students they will one day teach in the future. We cannot tell you thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1758833977776,"projectUrl":"project/called-to-the-classroom-future-teachers/9379974/","projectTitle":"Called to the Classroom: Future Teachers in the Making","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Webb","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1062752"},{"teacherId":2439715,"projectId":8390913,"letterContent":"Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, Kuta Software has transformed our classroom into a hub of mathematical discovery and growth! This technology has allowed me to create personalized practice problems, catering to the unique learning styles and needs of each student.\r\n\r\nHow Kuta Software Is Helping Students Learn\r\nFor many donors, technology might seem like just a modern convenience, but in our classroom, it's a game-changer. Kuta Software provides dynamic, customizable problem sets that align with our curriculum. Students no longer work through generic worksheets; instead, they engage with problems tailored to their individual skill levels. This ensures that advanced learners stay challenged, while those who need extra practice build confidence at their own pace.\r\n\r\nWhat Excites Students Most\r\nThe ability to receive immediate, relevant practice is thrilling for my students. They love seeing their progress in real-time and appreciate how Kuta Software adjusts to their needs. For example, students often say, \"It's like the software knows exactly what I need to practice!\" This level of personalization makes learning math more interactive and rewarding.\r\n\r\nStories of Impact\r\nOne student, Sarah, struggled with confidence in solving multi-step algebra problems. With Kuta Software, I was able to generate targeted practice sets focusing on her specific challenges. After just a few weeks, Sarah started raising her hand to answer questions in class—a huge step for her! Another student, Chris, who excels in geometry, used Kuta to explore advanced concepts beyond our regular curriculum, igniting a passion for math that he never knew he had.\r\n\r\nA Heartfelt Thank You\r\nThis project wouldn't have been possible without the support of our donors. You've not only provided a tool but also given my students the gift of confidence, growth, and a love for learning math. Thank you for being such an integral part of our classroom's journey toward success.","fullyFundedDate":1725726899684,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-math-education-investing-in/8390913/","projectTitle":"Empowering Math Education: Investing in Software for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Long","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2439715_orig.jpg?crop=398,398,x849,y168&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1640203906455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2439715"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26341","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":170,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":33,"percentWhite":40,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":21,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"21.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":70.8,"schoolId":26341,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edgecombe Early College High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edgecombe Early College High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/edgecombe-county-public-school-district/egdecombe-early-college-high-school/26341"}
