The devices allow students to better understand lessons in real time, which helps reduce confusion and frustration. They feel more confident participating in discussions and activities because they can follow along with instructions more easily. The earbuds also encourage independence, as students do not have to rely solely on peers or teachers for constant translation. Overall, the translating earbuds have created a more inclusive classroom environment, where students feel valued and are able to focus on learning both the content and the English language.","fullyFundedDate":1746471032489,"projectUrl":"project/helping-our-english-learners-thrive/9281868/","projectTitle":"Helping Our English Learners Thrive","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Owusu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8110429"},{"teacherId":8543592,"projectId":8878536,"letterContent":"The impact of this project was MONUMENTAL for the students! Our middle school is comprised of grades 6th-8th. Many of these students have growing and changing minds and bodies. Hygiene is a learned skill that every human needs to have to promote their success academically. Some of the students at Edison have been here since Kindergarten. Seeing them grow and change is such a privilege. \r\n\r\nMy students have many challenges to overcome each day, it is my goal to elevate the barriers of hygiene. Students also have a safe place to come if they need these items without being judged. The last two weeks of school the students helped me celebrate your donations. Because of your donations, I was able to create an entire store for my students to shop from, not just a small rolling cart. By adding some decoration, sparkles, and price tags, they are now motivated more than ever to earn \"money\" to spend. \r\n\r\nI came in on a weekend to set up their store. I wanted them to be completely surprised. To add to the suspense, I made sure the cart that previously held their options was completely empty and at the front of the room. Many of my students saw it almost immediately and had questions. Once everyone was thoroughly confused, I revealed the new store to them, by dramatically opening the closet doors. The immediate excitement was so worth all the time I spent creating the store, thanks to you. \r\n\r\nMy goal is to continue my store for my classes in future years. Thanks to you, I was able to make the first year memorable and exciting.","fullyFundedDate":1734713001657,"projectUrl":"project/rewarding-hard-work/9005906/","projectTitle":"Rewarding Hard Work!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hicks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8106912_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725030727953","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8106912"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_109333","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":617,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.5,"schoolId":109333,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Edison School of the Arts on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Edison School of the Arts","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/indianapolis-public-school-district/edison-school-of-the-arts-school-47/109333"}
