Right now, we are reading books on a certain subject matter and creating STEM projects that go along with that subject. Students are smiling and enjoying creating in the library. \r\n My students are excited any time they get to create or design. This leads to many other skills they will need in life. Creativity. design, cooperative learning, and much more. The smiles that came from the students as they were working said it all.\r\n One of the projects we did last week was to read the book \"Frakencrayon.\" Students then created their own Frankencrayon from parts and pieces. This funding has made a significant impact on our students, fostering a love for reading and encouraging literacy growth that will help them to become life-long readers. \r\nWith this grant, we have been able to provide meaningful incentives that inspire students to engage with books, want to read, and develop lifelong reading habits. The excitement among our students is truly remarkable. Many of them, especially our second graders, have participated in our reading challenges and I can see their confidence growing in their reading abilities. \r\nSome of our students do not have books at home or read outside of the classroom and this presents a challenge to us as educators. The reading reward program which is called The Reading Prize Patrol has not only motivated them to explore more books and different genres but has them discussing stories, recommending books to each other, and wanting to read more. \r\nI am truly grateful for your commitment to fostering a love of reading and making a lasting difference in our student's lives.","fullyFundedDate":1732122418394,"projectUrl":"project/reading-stars-deserve-reading-rewards/8741732/","projectTitle":"Reading Stars Deserve Reading Rewards!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp44113_orig.jpg?crop=2087,2087,x0,y591&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725558080308","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/44113"},{"teacherId":44113,"projectId":8958034,"letterContent":"On behalf of our library, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous grant that has allowed us to receive new books for our library collection. With the addition of these graphic novels, chapter books, and picture books, we are better equipped to meet the needs of our diverse readers and to offer some exciting new titles. These new materials have significantly enhanced our collection. They flew off the shelves when I was able to put them out for the students. \r\n\r\nThe impact of this grant is already evident. Students are excited about reading and new books. They especially love the graphic novels. These in turn will help their academic success. This promotes literacy and learning at such critical ages.
