We now have an outdoor area in which the children are excited to try new things. They have especially loved the ride-on toys and hula hoops! \r\n\r\nMy high schoolers are also very thankful for your generosity. They have been able to plan better engaging lessons to for physical development and creative expression using the items we received. Without having these items, my high school students were greatly limited in hands-on activities that focus on gross motor skills especially. Being able to give them resources to help them on their path to becoming a professional educator is such a great feeling. You have definitely provided a unique and inspiring experience for these students. As you can see in the pictures, we have used the materials to create a \"sandbox\" vivarium, where we can test out our materials. I believe being able to create a model vivarium allowed us to create a planning process consist with all STEM based projects. The best moments however, came in the teaching moments, where we discussed why certain materials were chosen for their non-toxic effect on organisms, the reasoning behind certain decisions such as making sure the sides are covered as well to create a more comfortable environment for reptiles, and overall teamwork in making future decision through research and experience. I can tell my students were inspired by this project, have opened up more about their own interests, and have shared some of their unique ideas on how to tackle this project.\r\n\r\nThis sandbox was only meant to be a springboard for future vivarium projects, as we will continue to plan to experiment with the sandbox using different substrates and plants, consider future ways to improve the project, and create a blueprint for a future larger vivarium that will house our class leopard geckos. Please be on the lookout for any future opportunities to support this project, as I hope to recruit more students and expand on the number of vivarium background opportunities we can create.","fullyFundedDate":1724960589452,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-bio-to-life-a-hands-on-approac/8507823/","projectTitle":"Bringing Bio to Life: A Hands-On Approach to Vivarium Construction","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Martinez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2957403_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x1008,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695214293878","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2957403"},{"teacherId":9480536,"projectId":8797803,"letterContent":"These ipads have impacted our classroom in an incredible way.
