By learning how and when to use items such as disinfecting wipes, brooms, mops, paper towels, and trash bags, students gain practical skills they will use at home, in the community, and in future workplaces. 🧹\r\n\r\nUsing cleaning supplies also teaches students routines and expectations. For example, wiping down desks after activities, sweeping the floor after snack time, or organizing materials at the end of the day helps students understand responsibility and ownership of their environment. These daily tasks promote structure, which is especially important for students who benefit from predictable routines. 📋\r\n\r\nIn addition, cleaning tasks support the development of motor skills, following directions, and task completion. Students practice sequencing steps such as spray, wipe, throw away, and return materials. These skills help improve attention, independence, and confidence as students see the immediate results of their work. 💪\r\n\r\nCleaning responsibilities also encourage teamwork and social skills. Students learn to work together, share materials, take turns, and help one another complete classroom jobs. This fosters a sense of pride and belonging while promoting positive behavior and cooperation. 🤝\r\n\r\nOverall, incorporating cleaning items and responsibilities into a life skills special education classroom prepares students for everyday life by building independence, responsibility, and confidence in maintaining their personal and shared environments. 🌟","fullyFundedDate":1776098115077,"projectUrl":"project/learning-life-skills-through-cleaning-/10031873/","projectTitle":"Learning Life Skills Through Cleaning & Independence","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7829282_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y81&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1773860509517","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maegan"},{"teacherId":7829282,"projectId":9974996,"letterContent":"1.
