Because of your donation, we were able to subscribe to Junior Scholastic Magazine, and it has truly transformed our classroom experience. Each month, my students eagerly await the new issue, excited to explore articles that span history, geography, and current events. It's been a joy to watch their curiosity grow and their engagement deepen.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students—especially those who struggle with reading—the magazine's text-to-speech feature has been a powerful tool. It's heartwarming to see them actively participating and finding joy in reading. Every student connects with something in the magazine, making it an inclusive and inspiring resource that fosters confidence and a love of learning.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I'm also incredibly grateful for the rich teaching materials that accompany each issue. The lesson plans, videos, and slideshows have helped me create more dynamic discussions and support my students in building stronger reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. Your generosity has made all of this possible, and I can't thank you enough.","fullyFundedDate":1746787053450,"projectUrl":"project/keep-our-readers-reading/9250738/","projectTitle":"Keep Our Readers Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McClafferty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9729468"},{"teacherId":9741930,"projectId":9211773,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity, and all you have done to put this wonderful novel in the hands of my students at East Middle School. I truly appreciate it! Touching Spirit Bear is such a great book for so many reasons. We learned about the author, who currently resides in Bozeman, MT. The content has alot of issues that the students are currently dealing with and can relate to. It has been a great way to start the school with Touching Spirit Bear as our first novel. After learning about the author and the setting, we began reading in the classroom using study guides to help with our classroom discussions. We learned about and designed Totem Poles to display around the school.","fullyFundedDate":1743820436841,"projectUrl":"project/keep-these-readers-reading/9211773/","projectTitle":"Keep These Readers Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McLaughlin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9741930"},{"teacherId":9745568,"projectId":8771720,"letterContent":"As the holiday season unfolds, I wanted to take a moment to share the incredible impact your generosity has had on our students. Thanks to your support, we recently completed a heartwarming project that brought technology and creativity together in a meaningful way. Our students used cutting-edge technology to design and create a 3D star for a Christmas tree that was donated to the Festival of Trees, a community event celebrating love and togetherness. The Festival's theme, \"Community Love,\" resonated deeply with our students and inspired them to give their very best to the project.\r\n\r\nThis 3D printer has helped our students learn by transforming the way they engage with their learning. In this project, our 3D printer allowed students to bring their ideas to life. They learned how to design a star using 3D modeling software, which required them to apply geometry and spatial reasoning skills. They also practiced problem-solving as they adjusted their designs to ensure the star would be both visually stunning and structurally sound. This hands-on learning experience bridged abstract concepts with tangible results, deepening their understanding and boosting their confidence in STEAM skills. Our students also explored the iterative design process, a key component of engineering. They learned to embrace challenges and refine their ideas based on feedback. This iterative approach not only enhanced their technical abilities but also fostered critical thinking and perseverance, qualities that will serve them well in all areas of their education.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer itself has been the star of the classroom. Students are fascinated by watching their digital designs transform into physical objects layer by layer. For this particular project, they were thrilled by the challenge of creating something for a public display that would represent our school and community. The excitement of seeing their work showcased at the Festival of Trees added an extra layer of pride and motivation to their efforts. In addition to the star, students experimented with designing other small 3D objects, such as ornaments and miniature figures. This exploration allowed them to push their creativity further while gaining a deeper understanding of the technology. Many students expressed amazement at how quickly they were able to turn their imaginative ideas into reality.\r\n\r\nStudents, who have a passion for art, discovered a new outlet for their creativity through 3D modeling. They experimented with unique patterns and shapes, inspiring them to think outside the box. This experience helped them see how technology and art can intersect in exciting ways. The Festival of Trees project beautifully demonstrated the power of technology to not only teach but to inspire. Our students learned valuable skills, felt connected to their community, and experienced the joy of contributing to something larger than themselves. None of this would have been possible without your support.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for giving them the tools to dream big. Together, we are shaping a brighter future, one star at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1726355786320,"projectUrl":"project/our-steam-team-goes-3-dimensional/8771720/","projectTitle":"Our S.T.E.A.M.
