My 7th grade students helped to assemble the mailboxes, and they were incredibly excited to see it all come together. I also gave them the choice of how to organize the mailboxes, and they were thrilled to have the authority to make that decision. \r\n\r\nThe mailboxes have been incredibly helpful in making sure that students get all of their assignments back, but they have also been great in that they allow me to surprise students from time to time. My students have some independent reading time, during which they are allowed to read whatever they would like. With the mailboxes, I have been able to surprise students with books that they have requested. The looks on their faces when they go to their mailbox and find the book that they wanted is great. \r\n\r\nOne of the wonderful aspects of the mailboxes is that they will continue to impact my students, helping them to maintain organization and keep track of their assignments, not just this year, but for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1764610563369,"projectUrl":"project/mail-call/9881724/","projectTitle":"Mail Call","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nold","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10345361"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85784","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":910,"numTeachers":70,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":63,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":85784,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about East Community Learning Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"East Community Learning Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/akron-public-schools/east-high-school/85784"}
