These microphones have transformed how they engage with storytelling, giving them the confidence to share personal narratives in a way that feels both authentic and empowering.\r\n\r\nMany of my students struggle with traditional writing assignments, but using audio to express their thoughts has been a game-changer. With this technology, they can focus on crafting compelling stories without the added pressure of typing or handwriting. It has also helped them develop skills in public speaking, digital literacy, and media production—skills that are valuable far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students has been hearing their own voices played back with clarity. There's something magical about seeing their faces light up when they realize their words matter and are worth being heard. For some, it's the first time they've felt truly heard in an academic setting.\r\n\r\nOne student, in particular, who was hesitant to participate in class discussions has embraced the opportunity to record his thoughts privately. The ability to express himself without the fear of speaking in front of a crowd has given him a new sense of confidence, and he's now even helping his classmates refine their audio projects.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a lasting impact, and I can't thank you enough for believing in my students and their stories. Because of you, they are developing not only their academic skills but also their self-expression and creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1732306411203,"projectUrl":"project/students-telling-their-stories-through-a/8947818/","projectTitle":"Students Telling Their Stories Through Audio Essays","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lamp","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8839219_orig.jpg?crop=2399,2399,x473,y362&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732541297048","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-lamp"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_85784","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":910,"numTeachers":70,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":63,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":71.2,"schoolId":85784,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about East Community Learning Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"East Community Learning Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/akron-public-schools/east-high-school/85784"}
