Being able to guide students through the tools provided in this project has been a game changer. It is easier to explain how to move through design programs when I am working right next to them! My students have been very excited with every package we receive each day. Each time we open the box, they are on the edge of their seats, waiting to see what comes out next. My classroom favorites so far include the Bingo Dotters, Glue Sticks, and Goldfish/Cheez-its snacks. We are excited to have these items in time for the holiday crafts. Every craft we make during this time gets sent home with the student when we go on winter break. We use the crafts as gifts for the students' parents/guardians. They color and decorate a bag, and we place all of their artwork into the bag as a gift when they leave for winter break. \r\nWe use the glue stick every morning when my students are completing their morning work. For their morning work, we are working on a specific word of the week. For example, the word might be 'tree' (fall time), and every morning for a whole week, students will cut and paste it into their morning workbook. They create sentences using the vocabulary words, work on punctuation, and describe the vocabulary words. During this morning work time, students also get to use their new crayons to color the sheet that they are working on.\r\nMany of my students, including those who have recently joined us, come from high-poverty, low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Your donation of snacks is a significant relief for them. It alleviates a burden that they might not even be aware of, allowing them to focus on their learning without the worry of hunger. \r\nSince completing my Donors Choose wish list, two additional students have joined my classroom, bringing my total to six students. Having must-have materials helps those students and their families not feel overwhelmed when starting at a new school in the middle of the year. \r\nMy students, paraprofessionals, and I feel very grateful and appreciative of all the support that has been provided to our special students. We love each student as if they are our own and pour our heart and soul into them daily. We show up daily for them, and these donations make it possible.
