My students have had so much fun utilizing the flexible seating options in my classroom and it has helped create structure, while allowing for movement to maintain focus. \r\n\r\nI have a handful of students who needed constant redirection about staying in their seats, but now having the option of a wiggle stool or \"bouncy ball\" to sit on keep these students engaged and in one spot, which has really helped to limit chaos and increase fun! \r\n\r\nI have a \"quiet table\" where noisy or unfocused students can sit during independent work which always felt like a consequence because it is isolated. Now that I can put \"fun chairs\" there students beg for a quiet place to rock while they work! It has been so fun to see how focused students can be and I have fun future plans to make more \"quiet nooks\" in the class for those who need time away from their table mates.\r\n\r\nHaving different seating options with clear rules of use has allowed students the agency to move around but has also provided me with much needed boundaries to curb unnecessary movement throughout the day, limiting chaos. My students have loved having new clipboards without writing on them and take pride in selecting their tool during independent work each day.
