These small items made a big impact; for some, it was the first time they had easy access to all of these personal care items in one place. It sparked important conversations about self-care, hygiene, and self-confidence in ways that felt safe and empowering.\r\n\r\nWe've already seen these kits make a difference in our classroom. Students have been using the resources before big presentations, testing days, and school events — moments where feeling fresh and confident matters most. One student shared that having deodorant and chapstick available at school made her feel more comfortable participating in group activities because she wasn't worrying about small things that can make middle school feel so big. These kits are helping turn self-care into a shared classroom value, reminding everyone that taking care of yourself is part of showing up ready to learn.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my students and I are brainstorming how to make this initiative sustainable. They want to create a \"Confidence Corner\" stocked with hygiene products and affirmations, so anyone can grab what they need discreetly. We'll be tracking which items are most used and reflecting on how confidence and self-care connect to academic success and emotional well-being. At our school, students do not have access to free feminine hygiene products. They are required to purchase products from our school nurse if needed. For some students, this is not possible. Students should not have to miss school because they do not have the proper supplies to keep them healthy and clean. Since my donations arrived, I have had over 100 students stop by and request supplies. The word is spreading around the school about the feminine product supply I now have in my classroom. We also have put the hand sanitizer, Kleenex, and Clorox wipes to great use! We are not supplied these items by the school. With illnesses on the rise, I have peace of mind knowing my classroom is sanitized and ready for learning! Your donations reached over 200 students. With the snacks you provided, my students were able to be successful with their mid-term assessments, as they had the fuel necessary to learn. Many of my students get on their bus at 6:45 am and do not arrive home until after 5:00pm, on top of this, not all students are offered free lunch. This means that some students do not eat for almost 12 hours unless they bring food from home. Snacks may seem like a miniscule thing in the grand scheme of education, but for those students, these snacks made the difference in their day.
