Because of you, every child in our entire school has had the opportunity to use the materials donated while learning social-emotional skills that they will use for the rest of their educational journeys. For example, we just used our new rug to hold a group lesson on anti-bullying for national bullying prevention month! They love getting to pick a colored smiley face each day when they arrive!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first came into my new classroom and saw the donated items, they were so surprised! One student even looked at me and said \"Ms. Katie, your room is so beautiful. I love it here!\" I have had many teachers tell me that not only do the children look forward to the days that the get to come to my classroom, but it's now something the staff looks forward to as well because they think it's such a calming, enjoyable environment! \r\n\r\nIn the upcoming month, we will begin working on various calming strategies that students can use when they are feeling strong emotions and will be using many of our donated items to reinforce these lessons such as our sensory pads, sensory fidgets, and rainbow sensory wall. Thank you all so much again for helping my dream become a reality.
