We set aside a special day to pack all the bags together, and the excitement in the classroom was contagious. Students eagerly worked as a team, carefully filling each bag and talking about who might receive it. This hands-on activity made them feel proud and responsible, knowing their hard work would bring joy to someone else.\r\n\r\nThe experience became even more powerful when we visited the senior center and spent time with the residents playing bingo. The students were respectful, patient, and incredibly helpful, making sure everyone felt included and supported. Through this visit, they learned how meaningful simple acts of service can be and how helping others builds strong connections across generations. Overall, the project helped students grow in empathy, cooperation, and an understanding of how small actions can make a big difference.","fullyFundedDate":1760120779071,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-care-packages-for-seniors/9734395/","projectTitle":"Kindness Care Packages for Seniors","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Howell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5929844_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538238176473","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5929844"},{"teacherId":9971113,"projectId":9179834,"letterContent":"Words cannot express how thankful the students and I are for your love and support and getting this riser project fully funded! Parents are now able to see their children better than ever, and we are also able to use the risers for our graduation ceremonies and other school events! \r\n\r\nOur students have described them as fun and comfortable, and I am so blessed to have such a tremendous support system in my corner! Since 2020, I have noticed a significant increase in children bringing reusable water bottles to school. As you can imagine, it isn't easy to refill them at school in the usual elementary school water fountains. Some kids were bringing plastic bottles from home to refill their reusable bottles. Our new refill station fills any bottle with chilled, filtered water! \r\n\r\nAccording to the counter on the refill station, we have already saved almost 1,700 disposable bottles from the landfill.
