Because of your contributions, I was able to purchase much-needed drums for my two new music programs. Before your donation, each school had only three drums, which made teaching so challenging. Thanks to you, not only did I receive the drums from my initial request for Highland, but the district was also able to provide a matching set for the second school, Westgate.\r\n\r\nWith these new drums, I have been able to start a new drum ensemble at both schools for 4th and 5th graders and incorporate them into the music curriculum for our younger students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.\r\n\r\nWhile some of the requested drums were out of stock, your support also allowed me to purchase other essential supplies for our music program. The students especially loved the light-up drumsticks! We used them to learn a traditional sword dance from Jalisco, Mexico, called Los Machetes. The students were so excited to perform the dance for their teachers, and I plan to include it in our upcoming winter performance.\r\n\r\nYour support has made a huge difference, allowing me to enrich the music curriculum and create exciting new opportunities for my students.
