The goal for the project was to provide joy and relaxation in my classroom to help students decompress throughout their hectic days, and boy have they been taking advantage of the materials. \r\n\r\nMy classroom is at full capacity during lunch, filled with students playing games with one another, flipping through manga, and coloring on their own. They've found a welcoming area to truly enjoy their free time in school with the company of their classmates. Students from all grades (even ones I don't teach) can be found mingling and laughing during free periods.\r\n\r\nBeyond just the down periods though, the puzzles and coloring books have been used to ease anxious students in need of breaks throughout their class period. I am so grateful that this project was able to be funded to allow students to find the joy they deserve.
