When students first saw the new materials, they were excited to get their hands dirty and start creating. The variety of seeds especially sparked conversations about what we could grow, what our community might enjoy eating, and how we could share our harvest with families and neighbors.\r\n\r\nOur students are now looking forward to the next stages of the project: caring for the plants, monitoring the garden and its visiting wildlife, and working together to create schedules and signs that help everyone share responsibility. As the garden grows, students will continue to water, weed, observe, and eventually harvest fresh produce to share with our school community and neighborhood. This project is giving students meaningful opportunities to practice teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and service while seeing the real impact of their work.
