The large black drawers were originally used for items such as folders, glue sticks, and computer mice, but students later suggested that the drawers could be used as an organized space to turn in their work—and it has worked wonderfully!\r\n\r\nAllowing students to have a voice in how we use our classroom materials has given them a strong sense of ownership and pride in keeping our space organized. They use the books to name labels in the pictures, or if they don't know the word in English, they will point it out to me and I will tell them the word.
