We have been using aids such as graphic organizers, sentence frames and paragraph frames to learn how to organize written information. So far we have concentrated on summarization and correct grammar usage. The writing assignments for this project were based on short chapter assignments, compiled in the style of a junk journal adventure story,\r\n\r\nWe have used the supplies we recieved to create journals that will chronicle and document success. With these journals, students are able to visualize their improvement. The journals include pockets where students can keep copies of their notes so they will be able to write and construct sentences and paragraphs in future classes. Students were able to use their journals to enhance how they interact with characters and other literary elements. Best of all, this was a project students enjoyed.
