We are still working through using all of them. This donation made a HUGE impact on the students. They are more motivated and engaged knowing we have such great educational materials and look forward to school knowing we'll be doing something special that day. \r\n\r\nStudents have studied the properties of rocks, fossils, and minerals in small groups using the rock collection sets we received. They've viewed small plants, insects, and rocks on our digital microscope using the microscope along with the boxes of slides. This week we'll be making volcano models with eruptions! We're using magnets and learning about the properties of magnetism. Students made super fun clay monsters with the modeling clay. The bean bags have been a big hit as they have found themselves comfy spots for reading and learning on the rug. Additionally, the wobble cushions and brightly colored stools allow for desired flexible seating that is more than a traditional desk chair. Having white boards with penmanship lines has really been beneficial when practicing phonics and handwriting skills. The children earn \"You Did It!\" tickets for the effort they put in to being a respectful and responsible citizen in our classroom community. The zipper pouches are the perfect place for them to hold their collection before \"shopping\" for rewards. \r\n\r\nThe best thing about most of these donations are that they will be used throughout this school year and for years to come, consequently multiplying the number of students impacted. During sessions, the iPad lets me: Model writing and letter formation visually (students can watch, then practice step-by-step). Provide interactive practice that reduces frustration (students can trace, drag-and-drop, or select responses when handwriting is still developing), and give immediate feedback and quick repetition (key for strengthening motor planning, attention, and confidence). The most exciting part for students is that learning feels instant and success-filled. The iPad turns practice into something they want to try again. Students love seeing their work appear clearly on the screen and getting a chance to \"do it one more time.\" \r\n\r\nThey're also thrilled about the new social-emotional books (like A Little SPOT of Learning and the I'm In Control of Myself set) and the hands-on sensory tools that make our therapy room feel like a calming and welcoming place to learn social/emotional/behavioral skills.
