Your donation has done more than refill shelves — it has opened creative pathways, strengthened student confidence, and made our daily work richer and more joyful. I want to tell you how we used your donated supplies to create a wonderful outcome.\r\n A specific classroom project we completed was a color explosion of their favorite colors. Using the donated acrylics, varied brushes, and canvases, students worked to create art that incorporated personal connections with color. One memorable moment came when a student — who often avoids art because he isn't creative — brought me his canvas to be displayed. He told me, \"I didn't think I could make something that looked so pretty, my mom will love it!\" That response — a student discovering ability and voice — is the heart of what your gift made possible.\r\n Your gift matters. Your donation did more than supply materials — it affirmed creative expression as essential learning. It allowed students to take risks, learn new techniques, and see themselves as artists. Moments like this and the classroom gallery walk are direct outcomes of your generosity.\r\n Thank you for investing in my students' creativity and confidence. We'll keep you updated with photos from our next gallery walk so you can see the impact of your kindness in action.","fullyFundedDate":1764898168756,"projectUrl":"project/exposing-my-students-to-fun-art-projects/9866039/","projectTitle":"Exposing My Students to Fun Art Projects!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vilhauer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10044181_orig.jpg?crop=500,500,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759796913633","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10044181"},{"teacherId":4562311,"projectId":9738448,"letterContent":"I wish you could have witnessed the excitement that my students experienced when we opened our gifts from this project! The addition of our new storage cart and colorful hula hoops has brought structure, excitement, and joy to a part of the day that our students eagerly look forward to. What used to be a somewhat unorganized and limited recess experience is now an engaging time for movement, teamwork, and creative play, all because of your kindness.\r\n\r\nThe storage cart provides a designated space where everything is neatly organized and easy to access. Students now know exactly where to find what they need and where to return it when playtime is over. This small change has made a big difference in promoting responsibility, independence, and care for shared materials.\r\n\r\nThe hula hoops have been an instant favorite! From traditional hooping to imaginative games and fitness challenges, students have found endless ways to use them. It's been wonderful to watch them create their own games, practice new skills, and cheer each other on. Recess has become a time not only for physical activity but also for collaboration and creativity. Even students who were previously less interested in active play have found something they enjoy whether it's trying to master a new hula hoop trick, using the hoops for group activities, or just having fun with friends.\r\n\r\nYour donation has gone far beyond providing supplies, it has created opportunities for healthier, happier, and more connected students. You have given our children tools for movement and imagination, and in doing so, you've helped nurture lifelong habits of physical activity and cooperation. The smiles on their faces and their excitement each day are proof of how meaningful your contribution truly is.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of play and for investing in our students' well-being. Your generosity has made a lasting difference in our school community, and we are deeply grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1747342892331,"projectUrl":"project/recess-storage-and-hula-hoops/9289513/","projectTitle":"Recess Storage and Hula Hoops","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Comeau Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7953477_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668941408003","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7953477"},{"teacherId":4093355,"projectId":9373782,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my students and helping them learn about planting and growing their own food. It was so fun to watch their excitement and see them learn.\r\n\r\nDuring summer school my students got to choose from 30+ different fruits and vegetables that they wanted to plant. They had such a hard time picking with that many varieties! They each got to pick 4 different types of seeds. We then planted them in the starter kits. The radishes were the first to sprout.\r\n\r\nThey enjoyed coming to school each morning to come check to see the progress of their plants. There was some disappointment when plants like corn took longer to sprout. They each took turns watering them on different days. They took pride in being the helper for the plants.\r\n\r\nThis was a great opportunity for my students that don't have a garden at home and even the ones that do. Your donation of markers, colored pencils, and fun crayons has made a huge impact on my students and our learning environment. I cannot fully express how much your support has meant to us, but I will try!\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the supplies arrived, the excitement in the room was palpable. My students were practically buzzing with joy as we opened the packages together. Some of them gasped with delight, others immediately began planning what they were going to draw, and a few even asked if they could make thank-you cards right away—using the new supplies, of course!\r\n\r\nThis donation couldn't have come at a better time. We were in desperate need of a classroom refill. Many of our old markers were dried out, colored pencils were broken or lost. Thanks to you, that has completely changed. Now they have access to vibrant, high-quality tools that allow them to fully express themselves and channel their creativity in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nWhat has been especially touching is how my students use coloring as a form of connection. They don't just color for fun—they color with purpose. Many of them create drawings to give as gifts to their parents, friends, and teachers. They take great pride in their work, and having a wide range of colors and new materials has allowed them to be more thoughtful and detailed in their creations. They ask questions like, \"What's their favorite color?\" or \"What would make them smile?\" before choosing the perfect crayon or pencil. Your donation has helped them explore the joy of giving, practicing kindness, and building stronger relationships through art.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, I've never had a class that loves coloring quite this much. It's not just an activity for free time; it's something they look forward to every day. They use it during morning work, after finishing assignments, during indoor recess, and even as a way to calm down when they're feeling overwhelmed. Coloring has become a valuable tool for social-emotional learning in our classroom, and your gift has made it possible for every student to participate equally. No one has to miss out because there aren't enough materials. That's a gift beyond measure.\r\n\r\nYou've done more than provide school supplies—you've enriched our classroom culture and helped foster a love of creativity, compassion, and self-expression. Seeing my students so engaged and happy is truly the greatest reward. Your kindness reminds us all that there are people out there who care about education and who believe in the potential of every child.\r\n\r\nThank you again from the bottom of our hearts. Your support means everything to us, and we will continue to use these supplies with joy and gratitude every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1742923885100,"projectUrl":"project/coloring-fun/9195723/","projectTitle":"Coloring Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Comeau Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7953477_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1668941408003","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7953477"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79769","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":390,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":65,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":16,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.0,"schoolId":79769,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dorothy Moses Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dorothy Moses Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-dakota/bismarck-public-school-district/dorothy-moses-elementary-school/79769"}
