It has impacted my classroom tremendously. The excitement that my students had as the office secretaries where bringing the boxes was the best feeling. \r\n Starting out in teaching can get very expensive. I am in my second year teaching second grade and I inherited a handful of books from another teacher. This wasn't enough to put in my classroom library. Our school librarian brought me some books that she was getting rid of from the library. They were old and out-dated. I noticed last year and at the beginning of this year that my students didn't really like any of the books that were on the shelf. I had purchased a few books and those were usually the ones that I saw students with. \r\n With these new books students are excited to go to the library to shop for new books each week. I have a couple students who have started an independent book club during our reading group time.
