We have the students do paddle/wrist warm-ups: gentle wrist circles and partner paddle taps. We also have Fast-feet and hand‑eye drills: students bounce a ball on a paddle in place and explain court layout, non‑volley zone (\"kitchen\"), basic scoring. We practice holding paddle, ready stance, and starting position. We show grip and stance and practice those skills. We are learning Forehand and backhand ground strokes and partner rallies from short distance. Volley drills at the kitchen line: stationary partner volley exchanges. We work on serve fundamentals: underhand motion, target practice (aim for service box).\r\nSimple skill progressions\r\nOur students were really excited to learn a new game! We had some students that knew how to play pickle ball already but most had never played before. I use this table for pulling remediation and enrichment groups. It also serves the purpose of a center area when the students work in centers. \r\nThe students were very excited to see a new learning table in the classroom. They love working together in my class, and this made it even more possible to do this. \r\nThe students will use this table at the beginning of the year for a get to know you center.
