The art supplies, fidget toys, anxiety-relief materials, and coloring tools have become a vital part of our classroom routine. Students use the materials to help manage stress during difficult moments and take breaks when needed. One of the most impactful moments so far has been during our weekly \"calm down\" sessions, where students can color, play with fidgets, or simply sit and relax with snacks. The ability to take a few minutes to decompress has helped many students feel more in control and ready to engage in the rest of their day.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement and relief. It was clear they recognized the importance of these items, and they immediately began using them in creative and thoughtful ways. Some students use the art supplies to express their emotions through drawing, while others find comfort in the fidgets or the soothing texture of the anxiety-relief materials. As we move forward, the next steps will include incorporating these resources into our ongoing social-emotional learning lessons, where students will have opportunities to explore mindfulness techniques, build coping strategies, and create their own stress-relief kits. Your support has provided them with not only the tools to feel better but also the space to practice self-care and resilience—skills they will carry with them long after they leave the classroom.
