The excitement on my students' faces when they first saw the clay, watercolors, and acrylic paints was unforgettable. They were eager to dive in, touching the materials and brainstorming all the possibilities for their artwork. \r\n\r\nWith these resources, my students have been able to explore their creativity in meaningful ways. Recently, they began experimenting with different textures and techniques, comparing how watercolor creates soft, blended effects while acrylic paint allows for bold, layered strokes. Students create agamographs which are three piece watercolor painting put together in strips to create 3D art. Some students gravitated toward clay, sculpting imaginative three-dimensional pieces that brought their ideas to life. They used the acrylic paints to bring their sculptures to life adding depth and color. Watching them problem-solve, experiment, and develop their artistic voices has been truly inspiring.\r\n\r\nAs we continue this project, students will refine their techniques and work toward creating final art pieces that showcase their individual styles. They will also reflect on the unique qualities of each medium, helping them grow as artists and critical thinkers. Your support has made this enriching experience possible, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to learn, explore, and create with these incredible materials.\r\n\r\nThank you for making a difference in our classroom! We look forward to sharing our finished artwork with you soon.","fullyFundedDate":1739455240025,"projectUrl":"project/expanding-creative-expression-offering/9088079/","projectTitle":"Expanding Creative Expression: Offering More Art Mediums for Student Projects","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9912029"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104209","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":110,"numTeachers":3,"percentFrplEligible":37,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":88,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"36.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":null,"schoolId":104209,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about La Crosse Polytechnic School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"La Crosse Polytechnic School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/la-crosse-school-district/design-institute/104209"}
