The items that I ordered were basic materials that are used in our classroom every day. It is unbelievable how quickly crayons and colored pencils can be used up. The students have been creating many different types of projects with these materials. Prior to Halloween all students, grades 3-5 created Halloween portraits using the style of Pablo Picasso. Currently, the students are creating watercolor stained glass pictures. These are turning out beautifully. \r\nOne of my favorite items that I ordered and received were the plastic trays. They can be used for so many different purposes. The younger students used them to hold their paper plates when they painted their Colored Cats in a Pumpkin project. It really helped with the drying and cleaning up of this project. The students were so excited to use them. I also use them to hold items that the students will be using for a given project. The larger space makes it easier for the students to find the pieces they want to use.\r\nAfter winter break the students will be working on two different projects that require whole class participation. One project will have each student decorating two wooden sticks that will be put together as a wall hanging. The second project involves each student designing two feathers that will be used in an art installation at our District Art Show in February.\r\nAs you can see we are very busy making art happen. This would not have been possible without your generous support. Thank you once again. My students and I greatly appreciate what you have done for us.","fullyFundedDate":1757952805505,"projectUrl":"project/creating-artists-in-the-elementary-setti/9469242/","projectTitle":"Creating Artists in the Elementary Setting","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Reinholz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8364739_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702499297249","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8364739"},{"teacherId":9892892,"projectId":9051916,"letterContent":"We are thrilled to share with you the impact your donation to our class has had. Alto saxophone, printer, and reed have been a dream come true for our music program, and we can't wait to show you.\r\nMy students have been actively exploring the alto saxophone, learning good techniques, and producing nice music. The instrument has also brought a new level of dynamism and creativity into the class, and we are delighted to see our students hone their music skills. The printer has served equally well, and we have been able to produce high-quality sheet music, lesson plans, and other resources for teaching.\r\nOne of the greatest moments was when our students first got to play the alto saxophone. Their eyes were wide with wonder as they took turns blowing a short melody. The look of pride and accomplishment on their faces was worth its weight in gold. We even had a student who never played a musical instrument before shout, \"I never knew I could play music like that!\" The reed donation was also appreciated, as it allowed us to focus on teaching proper technique and musicality rather than worrying about equipment costs.\r\nCurrently, our students are involved in a classroom project in which they get to compose their own musical pieces on the alto saxophone. We can't wait to hear where their creativity leads their music.\r\nWe thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your gift has been a significant help in my classroom, and I'm thankful for the chance to provide our students with an enhanced music education. We will continue to share our students' experiences and accomplishments with you. Once again, i thank you for supporting me and my students.","fullyFundedDate":1738776740030,"projectUrl":"project/band-equipment-and-necessities-for-stude/9051916/","projectTitle":"Band Equipment and Necessities for Students Needed Urgently","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ampomah kyereh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9892892"},{"teacherId":9839113,"projectId":8946475,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to share how much the new printer has changed things in our classroom.\r\n\r\nHaving the printer has really brought our learning to life. I can now print colorful and engaging pictures that grab the kids' attention, and it's made a huge difference. They're having a blast creating bright handouts and projects, which makes everything feel more exciting and real.\r\n\r\nThe energy in the room is incredible! The kids are so much more engaged when they see their work come to life in full color. It's amazing to watch them take pride in what they create and share it with their classmates.\r\n\r\nI've also seen some students really blossom with this new tech. One student who used to be shy about sharing their work is now eager to show off their printed projects. Another student who loves art has been printing their artwork, and it's been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they share their talent with everyone.\r\n\r\nThe printer has added a fun twist to our classroom, and it's made learning so much more enjoyable. Thank you for your generous support! It truly means a lot to us and has made a big difference for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1735580780212,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-learning-to-life-help-us-get-a/8946475/","projectTitle":"Bringing Learning to Life: Help Us Get a Colored Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. DARLENE CASTRO","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9839113_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1732720114676","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9839113"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_54674","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":498,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":36,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.5,"schoolId":54674,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Desert Vista Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Desert Vista Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/apache-junction-unified-school-district/desert-vista-elementary-school/54674"}
