These texts have allowed us to focus on important literacy skills such as decoding, reading fluently, identifying story elements, making predictions, retelling with details, and developing comprehension strategies. Because students also take these books home, they are able to practice the same skills with their families, strengthening the connection between home and school.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active and collaborative. Students participate in small, reading groups where they practice new strategies, discuss stories, and build confidence as readers. They also spend time reading independently and with partners, celebrating their growth along the way.\r\n\r\nSome of my emerging readers have been especially excited because they are finally reading books that feel just right for them. Watching their confidence grow as they successfully read independently has been one of the most rewarding parts of this project. Thank you for helping create joyful reading experiences and giving my students the tools they need to become confident, lifelong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1778007197993,"projectUrl":"project/fun-books-that-build-bright-futures/10157801/","projectTitle":"Fun Books That Build Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Soto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3146972_orig.jpg?crop=1374,1374,x0,y64&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628890121609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kinderdelroble"},{"teacherId":6785588,"projectId":9819545,"letterContent":"My students and I were thrilled to know that you believed in our project enough to help get it fully funded. We are beyond grateful for your generosity! \r\n\r\nAs soon as the new pickleball sets and the footballs arrived, we began using them immediately. Although most of the students in my class are avid football players and enjoyed the new footballs, everyone was excited to use the pickleball equipment. Before explaining any rules, it was important to allow the students to explore and play with the equipment. This was a great eye-opening experience because it gave me insight into the students' hand-eye coordinating abilities. The students had great fun trying out the paddles and balls, while also asking lots of questions, and this was also the first step in learning the game of pickleball, for me and the students.\r\n\r\nWe began learning the game by watching a few videos, reviewing the rules, and working on hitting the ball back and forth. It was great to know that we had enough sets for all students to play and participate at one time. The students were always excited to go out for physical education so that they could continue practicing. While we didn't quite play a full game, the students had plenty of time to work on coordination, aerobic activity, teamwork, and responsibility. \r\n\r\nStudents look forward to going out to P.E. on a daily basis. The new equipment made it possible for all to get motivated to work because it was only after all classwork was completed that we could proceed to do some exercise. The pickleball sets were always a favorite go-to, even during free play. I look forward to enjoying the sports equipment for years to come with future students.\r\n\r\nThank you, again for being a donor and making learning fun.","fullyFundedDate":1762267495928,"projectUrl":"project/pickleball-power-serving-up-fun-and-fit/9819545/","projectTitle":"Pickleball Power: Serving Up Fun and Fitness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martínez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6785588_orig.jpg?crop=1914,1914,x239,y347&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756598343497","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6785588"},{"teacherId":650955,"projectId":10002694,"letterContent":"It is so great to see our students active and having fun. My students were thrilled to find out that our entire project had been funded. Their faces lit up every time we received a new set of ball equipment and realize that we could now learn new and different sports. The new equipment meant that my students were no longer going to be limited to playing on playground equipment and only running during physical education time. This donation has changed the entire dynamic of P.E. time.\r\n\r\nAs soon as all of the different balls were inflated, the students enjoyed a free-play with all of the equipment. My soccer players enjoyed running all over the field with new soccer balls. The basketball players loved the different colored basketballs because they are easy to keep track of and just the right size. Although the volleyballs were new to many of the students, they didn't hesitate to put them to good use and begin volleying. The most popular balls are the rubber balls, of course. We have had great fun learning to play kickball correctly and show proper and positive sportsmanship. Every soccer, basketball and volleyball game will be a well-rounded learning experience, moving forward.\r\n\r\nOne major impact that this generous donation has had on my students is that now they really look forward to P.E. time. They are motivated to pay more attention in class and finish their classroom tasks so that they can enjoy some exercise. They don't even mind that sometimes we have a quick run before an organized game. The overall outlook toward exercise has increased, as has each student's role in the care for our new equipment. It's a great feeling to know that students have been impacted in different ways.","fullyFundedDate":1756942767846,"projectUrl":"project/the-big-bounce-project/9589580/","projectTitle":"The Big Bounce Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Martínez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6785588_orig.jpg?crop=1914,1914,x239,y347&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756598343497","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6785588"},{"teacherId":650955,"projectId":9528752,"letterContent":"These math manipulatives are so valuable to my students' learning!
